The Greenwood University Block club has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2016 with to support the Habitat Neighborhood Grants Initiative.
The Neighborhood Grants Initiative provides direct funding opportunities for neighbors to work on community-oriented projects together. West Pullman, Greater Grand Crossing and Austin are neighborhoods Habitat has chosen to bring ideas to life.
In Greater Grand Crossing, we participated in community service projects: block signs, Juneteenth Party, weatherproofing and holiday lights.
The children living on Greenwood Avenue helped me plant flowers. The goal of the block club is to make Greater Grand Crossing a housing choice destination.
